Social Commitment

By remaining true to its original values and by keeping its doors wide open, both inside the organization and the outside world, Qalhat LNG managed to grow without ever losing its fundamental quality.

Since its inception Qalhat LNG has taken its social responsibilities with great interest. It is not only that Qalhat LNG is considered as an effective member of the Omani society, but also a major contributor in the economy of the Sultanate. A wide range of the Omani society is, directly or indirectly benefiting from Qalhat LNG and its business through recruitments, development of local talents, procurements, supply & service contracts...etc

To formalize and set the way forward for the company contribution towards the local communities, H.E. the Chairman of the Board of Directors announced during the Qalhat LNG plant inauguration ceremony in March 2006, that Qalhat LNG has allocated the equivalent of 1% of the company annual net profit after tax for the benefits of the local community development in Oman.

Immediately after this announcement a Social Investment Programme (SIP) has been designed and put together to identify the current major local community needs and focus. The company's Social Investment program (SIP) is intended to insure that Qalhat LNG:

• Plays an important and well recognized role in the development of the local communities in Oman.

• Takes the initiatives and proactive actions toward the current local community issues.

• Acts as good citizen and neighbour.
